The Oncology Patient Centered Medical Home National Leadership and Collaboration

Dr. John Sprandio and his colleagues at Oncology Management Services (OMS) are leading the discussion on developing the Oncology Patient Centered Home Model.  Since 2010, Dr. Sprandio has been collaborating with the major oncology organizations, as well as multiple national and regional players to define and implement the model and the payment platform.

These collaborators include:
  • ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI)
  • The National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)
  • Community Oncology Alliance
  • Independence Blue Cross
  • Aetna
  • ION Solutions
  • Patient Advocacy Groups

Defining the Future

NCQA:  In 2012, Dr. Sprandio began working with the NCQA to apply and adapt the OPCMH standards -- which were based on the NCQA's PPC-PCMH standards -- and the NCQA's newly developed PCSP standards into medical oncology practices (and more broadly to cancer programs) for use in a pilot study.

You can implement this model in your practice or health system by contacting OMS.  Learn more about our process of assessment and transformation and the Toolkit we offer to guide you this process.
