Dr. Sprandio, in addition to being recognized as one of the region's top community oncologists, is also a national leader in developing patient centered care for cancer patients. His program, Oncology Patient Centered Medical Home, provides both a philosophical base and a proven system for delivering high quality care to CMOH patients as well as a model for community and hospital based practices nationally. His commitment to high quality cancer treatment, coordination of care, and excellent communication is the heart and soul of his practice and the OCPMH model. Dr. Sprandio writes and speaks frequently on OCPMH and healthcare issues to national audiences, directs the CMOH practice and the Delaware County Memorial Hospital Regional Cancer Center, and continues to see patients.

Brian designed and implemented what has grown into the IRIS software, physician centered software that facilitates the OPCMH model of care. With other key members of the staff, Brian leads the re-engineering of system processes and work flow, supported by IRIS that is central to the OPCMH transformation. He has a strong interest in assuring that EMR systems include physician friendly interfaces.

Maureen Lowry, RN, BSN, OCN

director of clinical operations and process implementation
Maureen has been instrumental in the development and implementation of the OPCMH model. In her role with OMS, she is responsible for conducting practice assessments and workflow analyses, and assists with practice transformation. She has also been integral to the development of the IRIS, the OPCMH enabling software, integrating clinical workflow and technology to achieve efficiencies and improve care at the point of service. She is a key member of the team responsible for gaining NCQA Recognition and ASCO QOPI Certification for Consultants in Medical Oncology and Hematology.
Ms. Lowry has been with CMOH since 1991, becoming Nurse Manager in 2001. She has been an oncology nurse for over 25 years, currently oversees all of the CMOH nursing and laboratory staff and coordinated the practice transition to an electronic medical record. She maintains her Oncology Certification through the Oncology Nursing Society.
