Mary Denshaw-Burke, MD, FACP received her medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in 1980. While at Hahnemann she was the recipient of a scholarship from the William Goldman Foundation. Following medical school she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Lankenau Hospital from 1980-1983. From 1983-1985 she completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at The Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Denshaw-Burke is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
From 1985-2001 Dr. Denshaw-Burke was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Medical College of Pennsylvania. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and a Clinical Assistant Professor, Affiliated Clinical Faculty of the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research. Since January 2004, she has been the Program Director for the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at Lankenau Hospital. Dr. Denshaw-Burke joined the staff at Delaware County Memorial Hospital in September 2006. Her special areas of interest are the treatment of breast cancer and medical education.
Dr. Denshaw-Burke is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has served as a member of the ASCO subcommittee on Training Programs since June 2006.
Dr. Denshaw-Burke is married with two daughters. She has been involved with the public library system in Lower Merion Township for many years. She has served on the Board of Penn Wynne library and the Board of the Lower Merion Library System, and is currently a member of the One Book One Lower Merion committee. Her other interests include downhill and cross country skiing, biking, quilting, and needlework.
